Good food, friendly staff and would rather support local small cafe than Costa
Beyond rude staff. All I did was ask if the carpark behind was for the cafe, which it was and the old lady behind the till was so cold and rude. Clearly has no idea how to smile and actually made me feel uncomfortable. Very cross will never go there and spend my. No need for such rudeness. She is lucky her cafe is still open and I would warn anyone not to go there. I have worked in retail my whole life and would never be so rude to a customer!!!!!! I am glad to see so many other people saying the same thing.
Went to go and have a coffee with friends today and the body language of the owner was not at all welcoming, she thought there were too many of us although we didn't fill up all the seats available in the cafe. Very odd thought they would be pleased of the custom and more welcoming, needless to say it's put me off going back.
Hidden away this is a gem waiting to be experienced! I had no idea it was round the corner from my house but I'm so glad it was recommended to me. Beautiful atmosphere especially the decor which is very stylish and chic. The Christmas touches make this place feel very festive but without being over the top. Reminds me of something out of a Hallmark movie. The menu has quite a few options, fairly priced and the food (cooked on site) is delicious! The only criticism if there is one is that there aren't a lot of vegetarian options available so that could be an area for improvement. Otherwise the next time you fancy a coffee or are out for lunch check this place out!
A place of two halves. We visited for Saturday lunch, it's slightly set back from the parade of shops in Bearsted so from the main road it's not obvious it's there. The aesthetics of the place are nice and food and drink was good and reasonably priced. All staff but one seemed nice and helpful. This is where the positives end. The manager seems to not like people or understand the key principles of customer service. When serving my wife she was curt and impatient, food was brought out without cutlery, no offer of sauces etc. She insisted the door was left open- food went cold quickly, and we were left chilly and wanting to leave quickly. Rudeness and a scowl won't help this otherwise good cafe. A shame.
